Las Vegas: Mold Inside The Health District PDF Print E-mail
Latest News

Read more about the very sad story of Dan Pauluk, a work-place mold victim, on the first anniversary of his death in July, 2007.

We are very, very sorry, at The Center for School Mold Help, for this family's loss and the suffering and loss that Dan unfairly experienced. This type of situation happens all too often in America's schools, government buildings, workplaces and homes. Without laws to prevent these exposures, more good men and women will become disabled, experience unnecessary and extreme suffering and some will lose their lives (SMH).

How Bad Is Toxic Black Mold PDF Print E-mail
Latest News

An example of an article by a building inspector who is apparently not aware of the current research on mold poisoning through inhalation and exposure to mycotoxins, which enter one's bloodstream. Also, toxic black mold is, by far, not the only toxigenic mold and stachybotrys is not always black. This article's information is lacking and represents what you may run into more often than not with local "experts". (SMH)

HEALTH: SICK SCHOOLS SYNDROME (Globe & Mail, Canada) PDF Print E-mail
Latest News

This media article, written by a noted reporter for the largest newspaper in Canada, one that is nationally read by all, profiles the problems of sick schools in that country. As Director of The Center for School Mold Help, I was interviewed for this article over a year ago, helping the reporter to understand the issues with sick schools. This article will be a watershed moment in Canada, for new approaches to prevent mold and dampness in schools and for addressing that which exists. With their national health care system woefully unable to address environmental illnesses at present, Canadians can now look forward to a government that will do something in its own best interest - prevention of these illnesses by all means possible. The Center for School Mold Help has been pleased to be part of this process. (Susan Brinchman, SMH Director)

Development of WHO Guidelines for Indoor Air Quality: Dampness and Mold

Report of a Working Group on Mold  (published 2008)

This very significant document provides an overview of the known risks from mold exposure, and what should be done about them (recommendations). As a primarily European workgroup, it is interesting to note the difference in what the U.S. Centers for Disease Control is telling us about mold and health and what this workgroup from the esteemed World Health Organization found to be true. At The Center for School Mold Help, we find this document as an accurate beginning in describing the problem of mold on health, as experienced in damp buildings - and in the case of the United States, this describes most schools (SMH).

A Killer Within: NV Health Dept worker dies from mold exposure PDF Print E-mail
Latest News

Warning: This chronicle about how a health inspector, devoted to his job, died from a workplace mold exposure will horrify you, but we all need to be aware of just how deadly mold can be.

"Wendy and Dan Pauluk enjoy happier times, circa 2000." (LV City Life)

We encourage you to read this story, study the photos and decide for yourself if it is worth the risk to occupy a moldy environment. We don't think so - but then, we hear of stories just as terrible all year long. CDC and health department warnings do not begin to list the dangers.  Regretfully, the health departments of this country are pitifully untrained and unprepared to deal with mold or other toxic exposure problems (SMH).
