"...humans have studied only about 1% of all of the microbes in any given environment ... despite the fact that over [300] years have passed since the discovery of microbes, the field of microbiology could be said to be in its infancy relative to other biological disciplines such as zoology, botany and entomology." Martin, TN: Site of school mold protest may be forced to close
The efforts of hundreds of students protesting, loud and persistent parent complaints, and several lawsuits may force the closure of Westview High School, where some students have become desperately ill. Without laws to protect the rights of children to a safe, healthy school environment, it has taken a lot of effort to try to help students in this TN school (SMH).

DRESDEN — A hearing on a request for an injunction to temporarily close Martin's Westview High School has been continued until 10 a.m. Thursday at the Weakley County Courthouse in Dresden.
Carol Hinman, the mother of two Westview High students, filed a lawsuit against the Weakley County Board of Education in December seeking an injunction to prevent the building from being used as a school until it is free from mold contamination, according to press release from Parrish and Shaw, a Memphis-based law firm.
Witnesses began testifying in the case today.
Hinman's children have tested positive for mold exposure and have been suffering many of the symptoms experienced by Caleb Joost, whose parents sued the board in September, the release stated.
The School Board is represented by the Nashville law firm Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop, P.C. The board's attorneys have said previously that the board has taken measures to address the problem, and have cleaned the building.
