SMH Note:

This very moving video introduction is a must-see for physicians, medical interns, nurses, family, friends, or government officials trying to understand Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (aka Chemical Sensitivities), as well as those with the illness. In Alison Johnson's film, MCS housing rights are described, in addition to the grave daily problems that those with MCS face. Those with mold exposures and subsequent development of MCS are not specifically covered in the film, however the syndrome of those who were exposed to toxic chemicals or other unknown elements as Gulf War participants and 9/11 responders, etc., will be starkly familiar. Actual descriptions and video of the symptoms that develop after exposures to "everyday chemicals", once a person is sensitized, reveal the challenges that MCS/CS victims suffer.

If you know someone with MCS, you can view this video and consider offering to help him/her by visiting (fragrance-free) and assisting with daily living activities like shopping or driving that may no longer be possible.

Many MCS/CS sufferers can become homeless or financially destitute due to this illness. These people often were formerly productive, valued members of society who performed important tasks, as military, medical or emergency personnel, or educators. They need our help, understanding, and compassion. Just having your understanding can mean so much!
