Tampa, Florida ■ June 12-14, 2008
The Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) cordially invites you to the association's 11th Annual Meeting & Exposition, from June 12-14, 2008 in Tampa, Florida. In keeping with its tradition of combining conventions with other organizations, the 2008 IAQA meeting brings groups of industry professionals together. The Florida Inter-County IAQ Council decided to forgo holding an annual open house this year and instead encourages its members to participate in the IAQA 11th Annual Meeting. Also joining forces with IAQA in June are the association's five robust Florida chapters.
The Florida Inter-County IAQ Council is an organization made up entirely of facility managers who work for the municipal, county, or state government. Their previous annual open houses have attracted nearly 300 participants. The local IAQA chapters from Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Pensacola, Palm Beach and Tampa will attend the IAQA convention in lieu of the state-wide chapter meeting that has drawn hundreds of participants the last two summers.
With facility managers and Floridian members making such a strong commitment to the 2008 convention, IAQA in turn is making sure the meeting's technical program provides plenty of educational opportunities catering to these groups. Sessions are planned on the newly passed Florida regulation that will license mold assessment and remediation in 2010, with key state regulators invited to participate. Likewise, sessions relating to the prevention and mitigation of IAQ problems in facilities within hot and humid environments will be a focal point.
Other areas IAQA's program will concentrate on are the medical aspects of exposure to poor IAQ, and green building initiatives. Panels of leading medical professionals, including allergists and immunologists, will be discussing how indoor contaminants affect health, steps to prevent exposure, and how IAQ consultants and contractors can help consumers improve their IAQ. In the green building arena, program topics will address LEED certification, green products, green cleaning and other overall green movement in America.
The IAQA Annual Meeting features an exposition hall with more than 100 booths. The exposition will include leading manufacturers and distributors of IAQ products and services. Whether you're looking for laboratory services, testing equipment, remediation tools, or business services like insurance and training, the IAQA expo hall has it all.
