Presentations were heard from notable
politicians, mold victims, mold activists and
experts in the field, including Joel Segal, of Rep.
John Conyers (MI) office, Dr. Eckhardt
Johanning, Dr. Simone Simmon, Joshua Simmon,
Joellen Lawson, Nancy Davis, and many more.
This hearing was held to bring to public
awareness the growing problem of mold in the
greater Boston area and throughout the nation,
and to seek solutions, such as H.R. 1268: The
United States Toxic Mold Safety and Protection
Act("The Melina Bill"), sponsored by Senator
John Conyers, Jr.. Much of the discussion
centered around this bill and questions were
posed throughout the evening to Rep. Conyers'
representative there, Mr. Segal.
